'Stache Bash, is Mustaches for Kids Charlotte's annual costume-heavy music and mustache charitable benefit featuring succulent 'Stache-Tini and Handlebar cocktails with great music, a Chinese auction, mustache enthusiasts and hairy upper lip entertainment.

'Stache Bash will mark an end of our four week campaign where men were encouraged to sprout sweet mustaches all over Charlotte and solicit donations from their friends, family and colleagues. Our mustache-growing endeavor is benefiting Pat's Place Child Advocacy Center of Charlotte, the only resource of its kind in Mecklenburg County.

HERE'S EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW:

* WHEN & WHERE: Friday, October 28, 7-10pm at MEZ in the Epicenter

* COST: We refuse to be like every Halloween event in the city. The cost is free to you, we are delighted to have your support and encourage your participation. A charitable contribution of your choice is welcome.

* ENTERTAINMENT: Thirty-four men will take the stage as celebrity judges vote for our Sweetest 'Stache, Worst 'Stache, Top Fundraiser and Best Costume winners. We are also giving out a best hairy mustache-costume prize to one lucky attendee (non-M4K participant) man or woman, supporting an amazing 'stache costume!

* CHINESE AUCTION: $10 for 20 tickets, $20 for 50 tickets, $40 for 100 tickets. You have a chance to win nine amazing packages, each retailing $300 and above. Tickets may be distributed amongst different packages or placed towards a single package. Packages include but are not limited to, a food and wine package, golf package, extreme adventure package, V.I.P. package, sports fan package, girls night out package...and many MORE!

* DO I NEED A MUSTACHE: Bring one or pick one up at the door. Every attendee gets a free, stick-on lip sweater at the door. Your 'stache is a represents your contribution and support for Pat's Place.

* IS THERE A THEME? Hairy Halloween baby! Bring your costumes and go Village People, the Golden Girls, Magnum P.I., your favorite priest (Judas Priest), Frank Zappa, a mermaid, a merman, 1980s television mainstays Alf or Mr. T, or come as your self. Just have fun with it.

THE CHALLENGE:

We're selling Checker's Tickets - The more you sell, the more money you will receive on your donation page.

 

  • For every ticket you sell, $6 will be placed on your personal donors site
  • The top two ticket sellers will take the ice on Sunday during halftime for a chance to win an amazing prize

 

GAME TIME AND COST:

Sunday, October 16 at 3:00 p.m. at Time Warner Cable Arena for Checkers home game.

Tickets are $15 ($20 value) $6 of each ticket goes to M4K. Seats are located in the corner section 100.

There, we will celebrate the joys and challenges of growing Mustaches. And we'll freak out people at the bar who aren't used to seeing large groups of men with Mustaches.

We’re excited to see all of you for Shaving Day Tuesday October 4, 6:30 pm at No Grease Uptown. DO NOT miss it. PLEASE DO bring friends, co-workers, significant others… you name it.

To shave or not to shave?

Someone hasn’t read the mustache rules too closely, which clearly state:            

On the designated Clean Shaven Day, participants (Growers) will shave their faces clean of any and all facial hair. This includes, but is not limited to, Mustaches, beards, goatees, muttonchops,   chinstraps, soul patches, sideburns that extend below the top of the earlobe, and Van Dykes.

Do you have what it takes to grow 'The Sweetest 'Stache?'

Here's how it works:

Each year, during the four-week Growing Season, Growers sprout sweet, sweet Mustaches. Per Mustaches for Kids bylaws, they shave their faces, except for the Mustache, a minimum of one time per week and solicit donations from friends, family, co-workers and people in the community. Kind of like getting pledges to run a marathon. Without the exertion, cramping, or dehydration.

At the end of the Growing Season, each Mustaches for Kids chapter hosts a Mustache Competition, which is a cross between a beauty pageant, dog show, and police line up. During the Competition, Growers, often in Mustache-enhancing costumes, are put through a test of mind, body, and Mustache. They allow their facial hair to be evaluated by an independent panel of judges, and one Mustache is declared to be the "Sweetest."

In the words of our founders, "Grow With Us."

Last year the Charlotte M4K Chapter raised $62,000 for donorchoose.org. Amazing!

This year we are sharing the love around the community and encouraging participates to advocate for an amazing local non-profit organization, Pat's Place. Pat's Place is the only child advocacy center serving Mecklenburg County children.

Our Goal: $100,000
